St Phillips Church of England

Church Hill Witnesses Nathaniel Lloyd and Catherine Williams - marriage performed by Rev William Cowper. John signed his name, Mary signed with her mark 'X'.

Both John Pearce and Mary Lees were granted their Tickets of Leave in 1811 and married at St Phillip's Church of England in Grosvenor Street Church Hill in 1811. On their marriage certificate John signs his name and states he is a bachelor, Mary signs with her mark and 'X' and declares she is a Widow. Richard their second son was born the following year. 2
