At a meeting of the committee of the Crookwell District Prospecting Association, held on Monday last, a code of rules was brought up by the sub-committee, and was adopted. It was decided that a mining committee, consist-ing of three persons, be elected out of the general com-mittee, whose duties shall be the superintending of pros-pecting operations, employing and discharging workmen, &c. Messrs. Samuel McGuiness, George J. Campbell and Robert Howland were appointed the mining committee, and were empowered to commence prospecting operations as soon as they thought advisable.

Mr. Samuel McGuiness, one of the oldest and most highly-respected residents of the district, died here on Wednesday, at the age of 80 years.
