BEAUDESERT, Wednesday.'97 After completion of repairs suf-ficient to maintain a normal elec-tricity service in Beaudesert, a temporary stoppage was caused last night when a truck backed into an electric light pole, result-ing in a short circuit.
This morning, when the 104 h.p. engine was approaching a full load the air starter valve cage burst. One fragment narrowly missed the engineer (Mr. J. C. Grier).
Through the Brisbane agents and the State Electricity Board a partly broken part was obtained; this was welded, and will be fit-ted, it is hoped, in time to resume the normal service about 5 p.m. to-morrow.
Until 9.30 to-night electricity was not available in the town sec-tion of Beaudesert, but the hospi-tal section was serviced.

GRIER-JOHNSON.
A picturesque wedding was solemn-ised at St. Thomas' Church of Eng-land, Beaudesert, last Saturday, when Mr. Cecil Grier (son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Grier, Hewitt-street. Wilston, Bris-bane) was married to Miss Rene Johnson (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, Birnam-road, Beaudesert).Rev. T. Humphrey Clark officiated, and Mr. S. Driberg presided at the organ. During the signing of the re-gister Mr. S. Allen rendered a solo. Miss H. Johnson attended as brides-maid, and Mr. W. Grier was best man. As the bride and bridegroom were leaving the Church they passed be-neath an arch formed by members of the R.A.O.B., of which society the bridegroom is an active member. Sub-sequently a wedding breakfast was served at an hotel, where relatives and a few intimate friends of the bridal pair were entertained. Later Mr. and Mrs. Grier left for Southport, where the honeymoon is being spent. Their future home will be in Beaudesert.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
