POUCE COURT.
At the Police Court this morning, be-
fore Messrs. R. Power and. A. H. O'Kelly,
JJ.P. (Charles Richard Marks proceeded
against William M'Lean for having as
saulted his son, William Thomas Marks,
aged eleven years. The defendant pleaded
gulity. Mr. J. D. Murray, who appeared
for the complainant, said that the boy
was on the Struck Oil-road when the de-
fendant rode along, and, going over to
him, accused him of having given him
(the defendant) cheek in the School of
Arts on Friday night. The boy denied
this, and the defendant asked him for
proof, and then struck him in the face,
causing his nose to bleed. The defendant
was convicted and fined £3, including £2
2s. professional costs, 3s. 6d. costs of
Court, and £1 witnesscs's expenses ; in
default, a month's inprisonment in Rock-
hampton Gaol.
