DEATH

ANDREWS.-Passed peacefully away on November 8. 1945, at her resi-dence, 9 Ilfracombe Crescent, Caro-line Sophia, beloved wife of R. H. Andrews, in the 90th year of her age.

CREMATION

ANDREWS.-Funeral of the late Mrs Caroline Sophia Andrews will move from her late residence, 9 Ilfra-combe Crescent, Sandy Bay, on Saturday (Tomorrow), at 10.30 am, arriving at the Crematorium Chapel, Cornelian Bay, at 11 am. ALEX. CLARK AND SON LTD.

The funeral of the late Mrs Caro-line Sophia Andrews took place on Saturday at Cornelian Bay ceme-tery. The cortege left Memorial Congregational Church, of which Mrs Andrews was a member for 73 years, after a short service con-ducted by the Rev H. S. Grimwade, with Mr Arnold Robinson at the or-gan. The chief mourners were Mr R. H. Andrews (husband), Miss Jean Andrews (daughter), Messrs W. and H. Knight, C. and L. Cramp, R. and M. Andrews (nephews). Others present included Sir John McPhee (Hobart Temperance Alli-ance). J. B. Stevens (IOR), and deacons of Memorial Church.
Funeral arrangements were car-ried out by Alex. Clark and Son.

DIAMOND
WEDDING
TOMORROW
MR AND MRS R. H. ANDREWS,
of 9 Ilfracombe Cres., Sandy
Bay, will celebrate their diamond
wedding anniversary tomorrow. Mr
and Mrs Andrews were married on
March 31, 1885, and have many his-
torical associations in Tasmania.
Mr Andrews was born in Tasmania,
but his wife, formally Miss Caroline
Cramp, is a native of Victoria.
Mr Andrews' grandfather, John
Blackwell, arrived in Australia from
Nottinghamshire in 1820. He was
married on arrival in Hobart by the
Rev. Robert Knopwood, having met
his bride-to-be during the voyage
from England. Mr Andrews' other
grandfather came to Tasmania in
1837, and soon after took up temper-
ance and other reform work.
The family has always been con-
nected with the Memorial Congrega-
tional Church. Mr R. H. Andrews
first attended as a Sunday school
pupil, afterwards becoming. Sunday
school superintendent secretary and
treasurer, and is now life deacon.
He has been connected with the
Temperance Alliance for about 60
years, and has been a vice-president
for more than 20 years. At one time
he was secretary of the State Coun-
cil of Churches, and is an office-
bearer in the Congregational Union
of Tasmania. He was secretary to
the firm of Bidencope and Son Pty.
Ltd. for many years.
There are three members of the
original wedding party now living
Miss D. Andrews, Mrs R. J. Cramp
(Hobart), and Mr P. L,. Andrews,
chemist (Longford). The anniver-
sary will be celebrated quietly.
