Mr. S. H. Belcher presented the prizes, and in doing so paid a high compliment to the principal, Miss Barber, for the high state of efficiency manifest among the pupils, and he concluded by remarking that he was sure that in future times those young ladies who had performed so admirably that night in their musical entertainment, and displayed such admirable taste in the tableaux vivants, would brighten many and many a home that would have cause to thank Miss Barber for thc admirable manner in which she had trained them. He thought also Miss Barber must have very efficient assistants. The pupils then presented Miss Barber with a handsome tea urn, and a complimentary address was read by Miss Grace Aiken. At the request of Miss Barber, Mr. Belcher returned thanks on her behalf, and the proceedings concluded with the National Anthem.
