About a Sewerage Matter.
S. R. Stoney v. (Mrs.) K. Uhr.'97 Mr. W. H. Atkinson for plaintiff; Mr. E. R. Abi-gail for the defendant, who pleaded that there had been no privity of contract.
Sydney Robert Stoney deposed that he was in business in Parramatta in 1909. Mrs. Uhr asked him to come and see her about sewering the cottage. Carried out the work up to a certain stage. Was then appointed an inspector under the council. His brother then went on with the work.
The defendant, Mrs. Uhr, deposed that she lived at Macquarie-street, Parramatta. The sewerage work had been done. It had not been paid for. She refused to pay the account.
To Mr. Abigail: The work had not been carried out as she would have ordered it to be done.
His Honor said there was a claim for work done and material supplied. The de-fence was that the work was never or-dered. The balance of evidence was in favour of the plaintiff.
Verdict for the plaintiff for £26 2s 3d, in addition to the amount (£2 0s 6d) paid into Court.

A Milk Case.
At the Parramatta Court on Monday the case was heard, Sydney Robert Stoney (Prospect and Sherwood health officer) v. Herbert Henry Single and Eric Creswoll Single. The defendants were charged with selling adulterated milk. A plea of guilty was entered. Complainant stated that the milk of the defendants had been examined about eight times in the last few years. There was a deficiency of .7 (decimal seven) in solids. Their milk had always passed before. Once the defendants had been cautioned. The S.M.: The certificate suggests that 8 per cent, of water had been added to tho milk. One of the defen-dants said that the milk bad been three hours in transit along a rough road. No water was added before the carts left the dairy. The S.M.: That excuse about the rough road and the long drive might ac-count for a large proportion of the defici-ency in solids; not for the other, the added water. Each defendant was fined £2 10s, with 9s costs.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
