At the Wool Ball organised by the Southern Cross branch of the Returned Soldiers' League the president (Mr. S. J. Hammer) announced that Mrs. Basil Oldmeadow had been awarded the prize as the Southern Cross representative in the State-wide competition. Her frock, made of Albany material, cost under £2.
