The committee of the South Brisbane
Technical College have revived a commu-
nication from Sir Philip Magnus, Director
of the City and Guilds of London Insti-
tute, as follows :-"I have the pleasure
to inform you that the committee, having
taken into consideration the certificate
in drawing from the Department of Pub-
lic Instruction, Queensland, hare decided
to award to Miss May Constance Dear
the teacher's certificate in the subject of
dressmaking." Miss Dear, who is the
teacher of dressmaking on the Technical
College, at Ipswich, was formerly a pupil
of Miss McCloy, and sat for the City and
Guilds of London Institute examination
for the teacher's certificate at the South
Brisbane Technical College, in 1905. As
the full certificate must include one in
drawing, Miss Dear sat for the Depart-
ment of Public Instruction's examination
in freehand drawing last year, with the

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
