On a negligent driving charge, Arthur Casis of Mullumbimby Creek, was fined £2 and 12/-costs, in default six days' hard labour, when he appeared be-fore Mr. J. R. Scarlett, S.M., in Mullumbimby Court of Petty Sessions. Cassis pleaded guilty. Mr. H. Hungerford (Hunger-ford and Blackwell), who ap-peared for Cassis, said he was a very cautious driver. When at-tempting to drive away from the kerb. Cassis's vehicle col-lided with a motor lorry. Cassis said he looked each way and put his hand out, but the lorry was travelling at 40 miles per hour.
