• living, 1851 Jun 25, Wheeo Locality, King County, New South Wales. ...The two men robbed James Christie's place on the morning of 25 June. Murphy selected a few personal items (a coat, a comb, some gunpowder and a bullet mould), asked for a prayer book with which he swore the family to secrecy for two hours, and then departed.
...
Murphy stood trial at the Goulburn Circuit Court on 4 August 1851. He pleaded guilty to feloniously assaulting and putting in bodily fear one John Heffernan at Gurrunda on 2 May, and was convicted by the jury of the robberies of James Christie at Wheeo on 25 June and John Keane at Bargo on 6 July...
