ALLEGED CATTLE STEALING.
TWO ACCUSED DISCHARGED.
MOSS VALE, Tuesday.
At the Police Court to-day, before Messrs. W. S. Caswell, P.M., J. Cullen, and E. Hewison, Js. P., John Greenland and Denis Joseph Condon were charged with stealing in Company 15 head of cattle, the property of William Hunter. Senior-sergeant Thorndike conducted the case for the police , Mr. Charles Bull, of Sydney, and Mr. C. C. Gale ap-peared for the accused.
After the evidence of Senior-sergeant Thorndike, Sergeant Thorncroft, of Kiama; William James Hunter, a stockowner, of Myra Vale ; Edgar Wil-liam Piper Cox, farmer and grazier, residing at Granville, and John Weston Perry, auctioneer, had been taken, Mr. Bull submitted that possession of the animals had not been traced to the accused and that they should be discharged.
Accused were discharged, and an order was made for the delivery of the cattle now in the possession of the police to the owner, Mr. Hunter.
