LUCKY ESCAPE
The fact that the verandah was
apparently not a good "earth" prob-
ably saved the life of seven-years-
old Lionel Balgowan and that of his
sister, Mona, when he came in con-
tact with the electrical wiring on the
roof of their home at Busby Street,
South Bathurst.
The girl, who is 16, heroically went
to his assistance, first using her bare
hands and then a coat to pull him
clear. She was twice thrown back
when she attempted to rescue him by
catching hold of him without cover-
ing on her hands. The third time
she succeeded in dragging him clear
with the aid of a coat.
The boy was admitted to Bathurst
District Hospital suffering from
severe burns to the hands and arms
and shock. His sister suffered only
minor injuries which did not require
medical treatment. - National Advo-
cate.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
