beer and geocaching

Charl and I went into town. We first tried the beer tasters at the Red Oak pub in the city. These are pricey, but worth it. You get 4 or 5 beer tasters with a associated food item, all of the best quality. After that we did some fairly unsuccessful caching. After staying in Bungendore, we traveled back to Canberra. On the way we stopped at the NSW – ACT border and I laid my hat on the easterly most point in the ACT.


There is no water in the fountain at Parliament House because of the sage 3 water restrictions.

We showed up in Canberra, and the accommodation was full. They said it was because of the Canberra Show. Japanese Gate in Auburn

I visited the gardens and took a photo of this gate.

It has been used in a mashup.

Crommelin’s Pearl

In the hills behind Pearl Beach is a cache called Crommelin’s Pearl. It is in the Crommelin Native Arboretum, a nice little place. We were to early for the opera performance (by days).

After this we visited another cache on Mt Ettalong, with views over Pearl Beach.

An unexpected find

While visiting a cache, I drove past the Auburn Botanic Gardens. This was an unexpected find and there are some nice spots in the gardens. It was strange to be in an very Australian style Japanese Garden, frequented by Chinese and Muslims. That’s Auburn for you.

Photo Shoot

Well I did my first ever photo shoot at Homebush Bay after a good lunch at the Cucina Viscontini, an Italian restaurant. I think I have a fair way to go, photography wise. I still use my own style rather than the prescribed ones. You can see this from the photos.
