Mount Tomah Botanic Garden

I was driving along, the poorly named, Bell’s Line of Road and went into the gardens. Once there, the man at the gate asked the reason for my visit. (Now some people may consider this an invasion of privacy. I do not.) Armed with my reason for visiting he gave customized advice on what I . . . → Read More: Mount Tomah Botanic Garden

10 Most Magnificent Trees in the World.

Well another one where one of my pictures has been used. This time a blog about trees. The old boab tree. No one knows how they got to Australia from Africa, but they have been in Australia for at least 10’s of thousands of years.

Strangely this blog seems to have been copied both . . . → Read More: 10 Most Magnificent Trees in the World.

On Drugs…

Having lived the first few years of my life in a hospital and having a GP for at father, I have always been dismayed by the plain randomness of the attitude in society towards drugs (and to me aspirin counts as a drug). Living in this environment I have always had a healthy appreciation for . . . → Read More: On Drugs…

Sitck Figure in Peril

Went up to Mona Vale and did two of Charl’s new caches and had dinner. The first one was Stick Figure in Peril, the second Sea Air. I have not posted the photos from the second cache, yet. We had dinner at the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, a Newport establishment, and the food and service . . . → Read More: Sitck Figure in Peril

wombat berry and sea air

While doing one of Char’s caches (sea air) we had some local food, the strangely named wombat berry. I wonder if they are also eaten by wombats?

Autumn’s Mushrooms and the Cultural Connection

A nice little side line, one of my photos was used in a blog by the local polish community on a site that is mostly about weeds. We found this one while geocaching a while back…

Apparently (from another polish source) this one is best cooked on one side in a little butter. . . . → Read More: Autumn’s Mushrooms and the Cultural Connection

Masks

A short and poignant movie from Dolly. (Alas the embedded object will not work with blogger.)

Point Cook

My brother lives in Werribee, near Point Cook. I have been meaning to go there for quite some time, so, finally, I made it. The displays are very good.
