My descendants of the Marks family come from southern England. William Marks was supposedly born in Bristol. All the records we have of William pertain to a time that he lived in West Sussex variously at (o) Chichester, (a) Box Grove and (b) Horsham.
William (aged 21) was tried at Horsham and duly transported to the Penal Colony of NSW in 1824/1825.
