The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rotunda_Hospital\">Dublin Lying In Hospital<\/a>, now known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rotunda.ie\/\">Rotunda Hospital<\/a>, was the second such hospital. But it is the famous one after which other maternity hospitals are based.<\/p>\n<p>My fourth great grandfather &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/tree\/person\/LT9G-PNW\">James MacCabe M.D., T.C.D., Esq.<\/a> was an assistant there from 27 January 1807 to 2 February 1810. It is not recorded what objection there was to Frizell, but the Board, by a majority of three to one, refused the nomination. At the next meeting on September 4<sup>th<\/sup> the Master again nominated him, and by a majority of five to four the Board decided to adjourn the question to the quarterly meeting in November. It would seem that is was the medical Governors, Drs. Clarke, Evory, James Cleghorn and Croker King, who raised the objection, and it is probably that this objection was based on the qualification of the candidate.
