{"id":22923,"date":"1833-01-31T01:23:46","date_gmt":"1833-01-30T14:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yewenyi.net\/wpblog\/?p=22923"},"modified":"2019-04-18T04:13:55","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T04:13:55","slug":"of-the-falling-price-of-opium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yewenyi.net\/wp\/fh\/?p=22923","title":{"rendered":"Of the falling price of Opium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is Charles Kemp Dove, a great-great-great-great-great-grand uncle of Krysta and Teresa, discussing the falling price of Opium that was mostly being sold to China.<br \/>\nIt turns out that Charles, his father and several of his brother-in-laws worked at various times for the Board of Customs, Opium and Salt.<br \/>\nThe Asiatic Journal and Monthly Miscellany, Volume 32 page 191<br \/>\n<em>Mr. Charles Kemp Dove, Deputy Registrar of the Opium Board, proved the price given for the opium in question at the sales of January 1839.
