I have some Scottish blood in my family tree. On one side we have the <a href=\"http:\/\/freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com\/%7Eyewenyi\/8.htm\">Balgowans<\/a> and further back the <a href=\"http:\/\/freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com\/%7Eyewenyi\/578.htm\">Shands<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com.au\/maps?f=q&amp;hl=en&amp;q=Rhynie,+Aberdeenshire,+United+Kingdom&amp;sll=-34.148206,138.690021&amp;sspn=0.175308,0.376282&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;amp;amp;amp;cd=1&amp;z=12&amp;iwloc=addr&amp;om=1\">Ryhnie and Essie<\/a> in Aberdeenshire. I guess that they were Jacobite&#8217;s and left at the end of the last <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jacobitism\">Jacobite<\/a> rebellion during the land clearances. In this time, wearing a kilt was considered an act of war and was banned under the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dress_Act\">Dress Act 1746<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">My grandfather had a tractor like this on his farm near Jingellic, NSW. I used to drive it when I was between 9 to 12. You can see that the man&#8217;s feet are on leavers on the side.
