It turned out to be a footway licence. I do not possess a footway licence. Does this mean I cannot walk on the footpaths? Why is it called a footway licence and not a foot path licence? Are they somehow different? A quick look in the dictionary show that it is a en(uk) term. Perhaps the councillor should have had the en(au) dictionary turned on?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/yewenyi\/4261293284\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3175\" title=\"Footway licence marrickville\" src=\"http:\/\/yewenyi.net\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Footway-licence-marrickville.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Looking on the council site, it turns out that there are two versions of the licence:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marrickville.nsw.gov.au\/edrawer\/GenDocLink.asp?RecID=10714.06\">This application<\/a> is required when you are considering the display of \u201cA\u201d Frames and Goods Displayed on Footpaths.  Council requires that the items used in the licenced area are of a high structural quality and well maintained in the interest of public safety.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marrickville.nsw.gov.au\/edrawer\/GenDocLink.asp?RecID=35759.05\">This application <\/a>is required when you are considering the establishment of an outdoor dining area located on the footway.
