Got up early to have an early start. It sort of worked. I left the campground at 7:15 rather than 7:30.\u00a0 We headed out, back the way we came and then turned off.\u00a0 Then into a bunch of rolling and at times very steep rolling hills. Max speed of the day at 68 km\/h.\u00a0 Again (and still) the current speed record for the GT3 and again done without pedalling.
\nStopped at the water at Markoola, just to have a stop. Kept on going. Large groups of people struggling up the hills which were very steep, but also very short.\u00a0 Lunch just after 12. No doubt of making it now. Just a matter of persistence. Some light showers. Longer flatter hills. Stopping because of the heat to cool down. Morning tea at lands end and perhaps what was the most disappointing of the third party feeds. The quantity of food was very very small. Hardly seemed worth the effort.
\nThere were a couple of cattle grids. They turned out to be a sinch. It seems that it is true, the best way over a cattle grid on the trike is at speed. The rain started lightly just before I got to the top of the hill down into Mount Perry, so no more photographs.
\nIt was a steep downhill for a few km into Mount Perry. I had to use the brakes a bit to limit the speed to about 65 km\/h as the surface was uneven with occasional potholes. If not for the surface, I probably could have ridden faster.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I did not go hunting at a distance for a camp spot and ended up squashed on a bit of a slope between other tents. The rain was coming and arrived in force shortly after I set up the tent. I wandered to the showers and then into the general store. Had a steak sandwich. Went up to the old smelter site. Back to the general store. Waited there for the rain to lessen. Chatted with some others doing the same.<\/p>\n

Got food bag. Went to food tent. Again I had dinner with the TBug. Luke and Karen decided to stay at the caravan park and got the last of the cabins. Well, it tuned out to be a donga. Very cramped and only for one person. Still, I have never seen one on this side of the continent. Went to sleep in my own tent and slept soundly.
