Private Walter Freeman, writing to his brother-in-law (Mr E. J.Cramp, of Koorlong) from Harefield Park, says that Bill McDonald and Max Grayston had left for the firing line, while Tom Kelly had returned wounded. Walter had seen Dr. Mc-Williams in England and had good talk to him. Walter was well and wished his relatives and friends "A Happy New Year."
Private Charlie Cramp writes two letters to his mother from "Some-where in France." He was expect-ing to go into action at any moment. He wishes to be cordially remembered to all enquiring friends. Private W. H. Cramp writing from Mitcham Camp, Ade-laide, said that he expected to be sailing for England at the end of January. He had been up to the Burra after some horses which the military people had bought and had since been participating in the "send-off." Moore's Store was to give the Light Horse a flag. Will wishes his old companions to know that he is sailing to-day and sends his best regards to them.

Mrs. E. J. Cramp has received from her son, Trooper Will H. Cramp, some very handsome sou-venirs worked in colors in Egypt. One was on dark maroon sateen and was beautifully adorned with crowns, a heart and the Allied flags, also bearing the legend: "With you, dear mother, is always my heart. Forget me not. With love from William." Two light gilt frames are attached, in which Mrs. Cramp proposes to place the photos of her two soldier sons-Charlie and Wil-liam. The second souvenir was on green and gold sateen diagonally joined and nicely fringed with maroon. This carried the words:"Australian Commonwealth Mili-tary Forces-a souvenir of Egypt to dear mother, with love from Wil-liam." Delicate silk handkerchiefs were also included-one for mother and one each for his sisters Maggie and Nellie. Exquisitely-worked cards for father, mother and sisters were also sent along by Trooper Cramp, who in a letter dated the22nd April states that he was quite well, but anxious to start fighting. Within four weeks from that time Trooper Cramp was reported as having been admitted to the 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital at Tel-el-Kebir suffering from a septic leg. It was only a mild indisposi-tion, so he is probably alright again now.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
