NOTICE AND CAUTION TO THE PUBLIC.
HAVING observed in the Herald of the 21st of October, 1849, an adver-tisement signed M. A. Sampson, I now hereby caution the public not to pay any attention to the same, as no cattle are in my charge, or the charge of Edward Botfield, branded BI over T, for Thomas Blackman, but that the whole of the cattle branded BI over T, which have been sold by me, are alone and bona fide the property of me the undersigned, and that no person had, or has, any legal authority to dis-pose of any of the cattle above alluded to.

Thomas had a relationship with UNKNOWN [1614] [MRIN: 396] before 1845 in Mudgee, Wellington County, New South Wales.¹ (UNKNOWN [1614] was born before 1830 and died after 1852.)

  Marriage Notes:

Bridget an aboriginal lady from "Nugal Station" and Thomas, had four children. These children were Louisa Florinel b.c 1847, Euphemia b.c 1852, Elwin and John Blackman. They were reportedly adopted by Thomas' parents, James Blackman and Mary John.

Thomas next married Cathrine McCann [23515] [MRIN: 17045], daughter of Patrick McCann [1654] and Catherine Kennedy [1655], on 1856 Mar 4 in Maitland, Northumberland County, New South Wales.² (Cathrine McCann [23515] was born in 1829 in Sydney, Cumberland County, New South Wales,⁵ died on 1894 Aug 22 in Cooyal, Phillip County, New South Wales and was buried in Cooyal Cemetery, Mudgee, New South Wales ⁶.)
