DEATH FROM EXPOSURE
Man Found On Lonely Road
Another tragedy of the outback has come, under the notice of the local police by a report from Wilcannia of the death of Stanley Wilfred McCabe (43) from starvation and ex-posure.
In an exhausted condition he was found near an outback road and taken to hospital for treatment, but died within half a mile of the in-stitution.
The death of the man was repor-ted to the Wilcannia coroner, who dispensed with the holding of an inquest.
McCabe was a swagman, and was found by Mr. Josh Milne, of Momba Station, White Cliffs, about 11 o'clock on Saturday morning last, on the "White Cliffs-Momba" road about 12 miles from Momba.
McCabe was lying near the road covered with a camo sheet. He was in an exhausted condition and was unable to sit up or talk.
9 MILES FOR ASSISTANCE
Mr. Milne went nine miles for as-sistace and then had the man taken to White Cliffs, where Constable Turner advised Nurse Broom. She examined the man and had him re-moved to Wilcannia Hospital; McCabe died about half a mile from the hospital.
Constable Turner was able to find out from the man that his name was Stanley McCabe, aged 43 years, and single.
It was ascertain that his father, Mr. Peter McCabe, resided at Spicer's Creek, near Wellington, and a bro-ther Frank was a farmer near Wel-lington.
A certificate of death due to star-vation and cardiac failure was given.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
