Wentworth-street, after a long illness, was 83 years of age. and the widow of the late Mr. Albert E. Cramp, who predeceased her 24 years. Deceased, who was born in England, came to Australia when a child with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Searle, who were early settler on the Hunter. Her parents settled at Hilton, and following her, marriage her husband had a farm at Phoenix Park. She experienced the Hun- ter floods of,1857, and some time later a move was made to Wallsend. but five years later Mr. Cramp acquired a farm in Tamworth district. The family after- wairds came to the Williams River, but reverses, through drought and flood, brought about a return to Wallsend, where Mrs. Cramp has lived since for 37 years. She was the mother of eleven children, seven who whom survive her. They are: Messrs. Albert, William, Ar- thur, and Sidney Cramp, all of Walls- end, Mrs. Monkley (Millers Forest), Rs. J. Lockett (Wallsend), and Mrs. J. Edwards (Hamilton). The grandchildren number 47, and the great-grandchildren 57. Upon the occasion of the funeral, members of the Salvation Army took part in service at the hour, Ensign F. Baker, leading, and a number of hymns being sung. The internment was made in Wallsend Cemetery, Ensign Baker con- ducting the Salvation Army ceremony at the grave. A solo was sung by Mrs. Baker, and members of the gathering took part in singing "Abide With Me," a favourite hymn of the deceased. The pall-bearers were Messrs Albert and Wil- liam Cramp (sons), and messrs L. Morgan and F. Monkley (grandchil- dren). many messages of sympathy were received, and wreaths were placed apon the grave on behalf of Maud and Will; Amy and Joe; Nettie and Jack; Albert and Violet; Will and Maggie, Arthur and Lizzie; Sid and Nellie; Will Mor- gan; Mr. and Mrs. W. Lockett; Mr and Mrs. R. Owen. senr.; H Mewburn; Sid Frazer; Florrie and Les Moran; Mary Archie, and Arthur; Mr. and Mrs. H. a Williams, and the Waring family, Wallsend , Salvation Army; M. and Mrs. W. Keighran; Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Pont- tic; employees of Peattle and Cramp's Colliery; Mr and Mrs. Pratten; Mrs. Rowland Smith. A memorial service is to be held in the Salvation Army Hall to-morrow evening.
