Wedding Bells: The last ceremony to be
performed in the Primitive Methodist Church
prior to its being closed as a church was of a
very pleasing character, and took place on
Wednesday morning last, when Mr. George
Brown, youngest son of Mr. John Brown, of
Parkesbourne, led to the hymeneal altar 'Miss
Minnie Ethel Christie, youngest, daughter of
the late Mr. James Christie, of Wheeo. The
church was beautifully decorated for the oc-
casion, one of the main features, being a
large floral arch reaching across the rostrum.
There was a large congregation, and the cere-
mony was performed by the Rev. R. Mow-
bray, As the bridal party entered the church
the choir sang "The Voice that Breathed o'er
Eden." The bride. who was given away by
her brother-in-law, Mr. D. Bunker, looked
charming in a dress of cream figured benga-
line, made with a yoke of tucked surah silk,
finished with a fichu of embroidered chiffon,
fastened with a spray of orange blossoms. The
usual wreath and veil a ere worn, also a hand-
some gold brooch, which with the bouquet
which the bride carried was a present of the
bridegroom. The bridesmaid, Miss Katie
Keith, looked very nice in a dress of cream
fancy muslin. tucked and trimmed with in-
sertion, hat en suite trimmed with tucked
chiffon and cream tips. She also wore a
double-bar gold brooch, the gift of the bride-
groom. Mr. Herbert Grimson acted as best
man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the
officiating minister, on behalf of the members
of the choir, Christian Endeavour Society,
Sunday-school teachers, presented the bride
with a very handsome revolving butter cooler,
electro-plated on britannia metal and beauti-
fully embossed. In making the presentation
Mr. Mowbray took occasion to refer to the
energy displayed by the recipient in the work
of the various organisations of the church.
and expressed a hope that she would be equal-
ly successful in the new sphere to which she
was going. The bridegroom returned thanks
on behalf of his wife. Miss B. Pinn played
the "Wedding March," and the bridal party
left the church amidst showers of rice and
repaired to the residence of the bride's bro-
ther-in-law, Mr. R. T. Sherriff, where the
wedding breakfast had been laid in first-class
style. The toast of the newly-wedded couple
was proposed by Rev. R. Mowbray and re-
sponded to by the bridegroom, Mr. W. Christie
proposed the bridesmaid, and Mr. D. Bunker
responded on her behalf. The happy couple
left afterwards for their home at Parkes-
bourne, the bride's travelling dress being a
tailor-made coat and skirt, with a pretty
toque trimmed with chiffon, blue flowers,
and an osprey. The following is a list of
the presents:- Miss Emily Christie (Sydney),
sister of the bride, bridal dress; Mrs. Christie
(bride's mother), china tea set; Mr. and Mrs.
T. E. Spencer (Sydney), half-dozen silver
afternoon teaspoons; Mr. and Mrs. W. Chris-
tie, sen., handsome biscuit barrel, and water
jug; Miss Bird (Sydney), silver breakfast
cruet; Miss L. Jeffries (Sydney), ruby bul-
ter dish and pair of statuettes; Miss Louise
Christie, photo. frame; Mr. and Mrs. Marks,
pair of vases; Mr. and Mrs. Moore, bread
tray and knife and pair of vases; Mr. and
Mrs. F. Beard, cruet, pair of salts, crystal
cheese dish, and cut glass cake dish; Miss
M. Arnold (Sydney), sideboard cloth; Mrs.
Bunker, cut glass butter dish; Miss Katie
Keith, mirror bracket; Mr. and Mrs. D.
Bunker (Taralga), pair photo, frames, crumb
brush and tray; Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Sher-
