SOLDIER KILLED AT GOWRIE SUBWAY.
A shocking fatality occurred about 5.30 p.m. on Monday at Gowrie sub-way, when a military truck in a con-voy proceeding southwards struck the side of the subway. The truck was driven by Private F. P. Muller, who had with him Corporal Noel Jack Brindle, 21, of Lavender Street, Five Dock, and Private Keith P. Eedy, 18, of Eighth Avenue, Campsie. The impact caused the body of the truck to be broken right off, and Brindle and Eedy were thrown out. Corporal Brindle was killed, and Private Eedy, who was seriously injured, was taken by am-bulance to Dangar Cottage Hospital. An inquest into the death of Brindle was opened at 10 o'clock on Monday night by the District Coroner (Mr A. Morrison). The driver of the truck gave evidence of identification, and Lieut. P. G. Hocken also gave evi-dence, when the inquiry was ad-journed until Wednesday, January 7th, at 3 p.m.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
