OBITUARY
Mrs. Winifred Margaret
Ditchburn
The death occurred at the Naran-
dera District Hospital on Wednesday
last of an old resident of Narandera
in the person of Mrs. Winifred Mar-
garet Ditchburn, wife of Mr. Norman
Ditchburn, at the age of 62 years.
Mrs. Ditchburn was a native of
Windsor (Victoria). She went to Jer-
ilderie in 1890, and came to Naran-
dera in 1912, and finally settled here
in 1921. She was a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Esmonde, for-
merly of Narandera.
Mrs. Ditchburn was possessed of a
retiring disposition and devoted most
of her time to her family, she had
many friends in Narandera and Jeril-
derie districts, where she was well
known and highly respected. She suf-
fered a long and painful illness, which
she bore with the greatest fortitude.
Deceased is survived by her hus-
band, and a family of three sons and
three daughters. The sons are Phil
(Woolahra, Sydney), Stanley (Nar-
andera), and Reginald (Narandera).
Tile daughters are Norma (Mrs. B.
Allen, Narandera), May (Mrs. L.
Cramp, Narandera), and Kathleen
(Mrs. C. Carlson, Bondi). She is also,
survived by two brothers, Messrs.
Tom and Jas. Esmonde, of Melbourne,
and two sisters, Mrs. J. ('Jerry')
Myers (Melbourne), and Mrs. W.
Woods (Lakemba, Sydney).
One son. Thomas, predeceased her.
The funeral took place yesterday
afternoon, the cortege leaving St.
Mel's Church for the R.C. portion of
the Narandera cemetery.
Mrs. F. Lindley carried out the
funeral arrangements.
