Before Messrs. J. F. Naylon and T. M. Cooke, in the Plympton Magis-trates' Court yesterday. Frederick John Glastonbury, laborer, of Roper street, Adelaide, was charged with having, at North Plympton. stolen a quantity of tools, bulbs, and almonds, valued at £5. the property of Charles Edwin Gilbert. Glastonbury pleaded guilty, and was ordered five months' imprisonment. It was stated in evidence that the defendant had been stealing goods from his employer for several days. He was arrested by Detective Herman and Constables Radcliffe and Waye. Constable Radcliffe prosecuted.

Frederick John Glastonbury, of George street. St. Peters, pleaded guilty to a charge that on November 17, at Adelaide, he unlawfully attempted to purchase liquor from Constable Mens-forth, an unlicensed person. Glaston-bury was fined £5, with £1 costs. Police Prosecutor Miller prosecuted in each case.

S.M.: '97Betting Case Further Adjourned.-The case in which Frederick John Glaston-bury, steward, of Hutt street, city, was charged with having, on September 26.been in the premises of the Amateur Billiards Association. Gawler place, city. for the purpose of unlawful betting, was continued yesterday. The hearing was not finished, and was adjourned until December 8.The Assistant Crown Prosecutor (Mr. A. L. Pickering) prosecuted, and Mr. C.T. Gun appeared for the defence.
