Funerals
MR. J. T. CRAMP, HOBART
The funeral of Mr. John Tomlin
Cramp, of 331 Park-street, New Town,
who died on Saturday at the age of
94 years, was held at Cornelian Bay
Cemetery yesterday. Rev. L. D. Smith
conducted services at the home and
graveside. The chief mourners were
Misses L., E. and J. Cramp and Mrs.
R. Stanfield, daughters.
Mr. Cramp was the eldest son of
Mr. Richard James Cramp, Kent, Eng-
land, and was born in Tasmania in
1847. He was educated at Mr. Hugh's
school, New Town, and privately. After
having carried on an exchange stores
business at St. Marys for about 23
years, Mr. Cramp retired and took
up orcharding as a hobby at Conne-
warre, Claremont. He took a keen
interest in current affairs and was a
frequent contributor to the press on
topical subjects. He was a justice of
the peace for Tasmania and had been
a councillor of Glenorchy for many
years. On many occasions he was a
delegate to the annual conferences in
Hobart of the Agricultural and Stock
Owners' Association and maintained a
keen interest in the affairs of the
Horticultural Society. For more than
50 years he was a Methodist lay
preacher and acted in that capacity at
St. Marys, Glenorchy and New Town.
Mr. Cramp's wife died three years
ago. He is survived by six daughters
and a son.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
