Leigh and Co., Ltd., died on Monday, after a few hours illness. Mr. Spencer was a founder of the Northern Districts Cricket Club, a member of the Pennant Hills Golf Club, the Masonic Club, the Master Printers' Association, and the board of the Hospital Saturday Fund, a trustee of the Children's Library and Crafts Club, Surry Hills, and a prominent supporter and worker for the Boys' Brigade. More than 100 wreaths transformed the mortuary chapel at Taylor-square Darling- hurst into a floral bower, when a funeral ser- vice was held on Tuesday. The service was conducted by the Rev. R. H. Bootie of the Pennant Hills Anglican Church and the cor- teg proceeded to the Rookwood Crematorium where the church burial rites were followed by a Masonic service conducted by Wor. Bro. S. C. King and members of Lodge Leinster Marine, of which Mr Spencer was a Past Master. There was a large attendance of representatives of the British-Australasian Tobacco Co. Pty. Ltd., and of S. T. Leigh and Co., Ltd., and its other associated companies as well as of the punting industry and the business community. The chief mourners were the widow (Mrs Spencer), Mrs S. A .Spencer (mother), Messrs A. E. and G. O. Spencer (sons), Messrs C. C. and T. E. Spencer (brothers), Mesdames G. Rodger and G. O. Ingledew (sisters), Messrs, Rodger, Ingledew, W. & J. Collins (brothers- in-law), Mis G. O. Spencer (daughter-in-law) Mrs T. W. Spencer (sister-In-law), and Messrs T. Ingledew and Christie (nephews).
