UNLAWFULLY RESCUING IMPOUNDED CATTLE
At the "Newtown Police Court yesterday before Mr. Smithers, S. M., Horace Oswald Bucknell, agent for Susan Bucknell, proceeded against Charles Jol-liffe for having rescued unlawfully two horses seized by Bucknell for the purpose of being im-pounded for trespass on the lands of Susan Bucknell. Mr Buckuell appeared for his brother and Mr. Abigail for Jolliffe. Before proceeding with the case Mr. Bucknell said he was quite prepared to withdraw the information if the defendant would apologise and promise not todo so again. This the other side refused to do. The prosecutor stated the cattle were on his land, and he had them seized with a view of impounding them, of which the owner received due notice. Defendant attempted to drive the cattle out, but just before he got them to the gate, witness stopped him. He then ran away, but returned in a few, moments and threwa lump of clay at witness's head, and ran away again. Witness chased him and caught him, with a view of handing him over to the police, but at last let him go. The magistrate said he thought the suggestion thrown out at the commencement of the case ought to have been accepted. After consulta-tion it was decided that the information should be withdrawn, defendant to apologise and promise not to interfere with the prosocutor at any future time

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
