HOUSE BURNT DOWN.
GOULBURN, Monday.
When a fire broke out in Mr. W. C. R. Eldridge's home in Bourke-street, the inmates had to escape in their night attire. Mrs. Eldridge jumped 15 feet from a verandah and was caught by her husband. Mr. J. McIll-wraith, headmaster of the South Goulburn Public School saved only his violin, and Mr. Joseph Trompp leapt about ten feet to the ground. He managed to save a motor bicycle. The damage is estimated at £1300.
