Our Charleville correspondent telegraphed on Monday :\emdash Mr. I. E. Peyton has bad a mob of sheep depasturing near the 18-mile on the Charleville-Augathella road for some time past, Elijah Marks being in charge. On Tuesday last Peyton and Marks were inspecting some new country, having left the sheep in charge of two men, and on being taken to water the sheep rushed and could not be stopped. The sides of the waterhole which they were ap- proaching were very steep, and over the banks they rushed, 600 out of the mob being drowned. The loss is a very serious one, and at the present price of sheep will amount to about £300. The sheep had been doing so well that Peyton was quite pleased. It is bad enough to lose one's stock by drought, but doubly hard when, having fought the drought so long, they are lost In the manner these were.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
