DEATH OF A CONSTABLE.
A RETURNED SOLDIER.
BROKEN HILL, Friday.
The police received information this evening that the missing constable, William Harold Blackman, was found by a boundary rider, Robert Hancock, of Mount Gipps, about 14 miles from Broken Hill, in a dying condition. Blackman bad a wound on the left wrist. An artery bad been severed. Hancock rode three miles for assistance, and when he returned he found that Blackman had expired. The police have gone out to bring in the body. Deceased was 27 years of age, and a native of Mudgee. He returned in May last from South Africa after serving with one of the New South Wales contingents. Since his arrival in Broken Hill he had been very depressed
