Crookwell; were each fined £ 1, or
3 days, with 8/ costs, for having
driven sheep to the Crookwell sale
yards without having first obtained
a travelling stock permit.
In the case of Eldridge, Mr. J. J.
Henley explained that the defendant
had made a sensible decision to send
some sheep to the sale and had asked
his wife to ring the N.Z. Loan and
Mercantile Agency Co. to arrange for
a permit. When the inspector had
called at the company's office the
permit was in the process of being
made out.
