WIDOW RECEIVES
£850 COMPENSATION
SYDNEY, Wednesday.
The widow of a Yanco Shire Council employee, who died in Juiy, 1947, after a heart attack, was awarded £850 compensation by Judge Lamond in the Work- ers' Compensation Court to-day.
She is Mrs. Margaret Adams, of Chantilly Street, Narrandera.
Her husband, David Joshua Adams, 62, was a tractor driver. He died at Grong Grong camp about 20 minutes after he fin shed work for the day.
Evidence was given that Adams had suffered from heart trouble foi' 14 years. Four days before his death he complained to the foreman that he did not feel well, and was told to go home. He did not return until three'days later.
Judge Lamond was told ' that cranking the tractor was a diffi- cult job, and sometimes took up to 15 minutes. Adams had cranked it three times on the day he died. When he returned to Grong Grong camp on July l8 he did a few minor repairs' to the tractor, and later complained he felt sick. He rested on his bed at the camp, but was dead less' than 10 minutes later.
Judge Lamond said it seemed to Him that the strenuous work Adams had done that day played a material part in bringing about his death.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
