The Death of James and Elizabeth Blackman

My third great grandfather, James Blackman died before his wife Elizabeth Blackman but only by a short time. Theirs was quite a story.

DEATHS.

At the residence of Mr. William Blackman, Mudgee, Mr. James Blackman, senior, on the 6th day of May last, having attained a very advanced age, 83. Also, on the 2nd July, Elizabeth Blackman, wife of the above James Blackman, aged 71 years : leaving a family of ten children to deplore their loss.

    I am descended from James and Elizabeth’s child – Robert Blackman.
    I have a newspaper article on the topic on the page for Euphemia Blackman. I am sure there is another that talks about all the children. But I cannot find it at the moment.

  2. I noticed that you made mention of my great great grandmother. Elizabeth Winsper/Winsforth in your family research. (Her parents were noted as William Winsforth/Winsper and Mary Ann and her surname was simply noted (a black woman) I am trying to trace our aboriginal heritage.

    My family are William Blackman line second child of James & Elizabeth. My father had three brothers Jack, Allan & Rodney their mother was Caroline ( nee ) Jones & father John Blackman. My Wife Enid (nee) Thomason, we have two children James & Margaret she has a daughter named Stellar.
