GUNNING B.C.-Cycling seems to be very popular at Gunning, and the B.C. there recently ran off a two miles handicap on their track at the Beureation Grounds. There were twelve entries for the race, which caused considerable interest, and a large number of people were present. Mr. W. R. Reynolds, J.P., who takes great interest in the club, officiated as judge, with Mr. W. Denny as starter. First Heat: F. M. Wilson, scratch, 1; R. T. Sherriff, 425yds, 2 ; A. E. Grosvenor, 460yds, 3; 0. Wettig, 160yds ; W. S. Reay, 160yds. Wettig missed his pedal, and fell after riding about 20 yards. Second heat : C. Grosvenor, 475yds, 1 ; G. Wilson, Bowning, 150yds, 2 ; J. Knox, Yass, 170yds ; F. Mote, Yass, 500yds. The latter is a boy of 12 years, but rode well. Final heat : F. M, Wil-son, 1 : R. T. Sherriff, 2 ; A. E. Grosvenor, 8. At the sixth lap Sherriff seemed to have the race in hand, but in the last lap Wilson put on a grand spurt and won by a few yards. The prizes were dis-tributed at Lawless's Hotel the same evening. Two bicycle races have been included in the athletic meeting to be held on 9th November. Any Sydney wheelman who may feel inclined to run up to Gunning may depend upon a warm reception. It would give a great impetus to the sport if metropolitan riders would visit these provincial centres at holiday times, especially when there are races on.

GUNNING-The sports to be held in Gunning on next Monday, the 9th instant, include two wheel events. One, a two-mile handicap for three trophies valued, at £2-2s, £1 1s, and 10s 6d. The following are the entrances and han-dicap :-F. M. Wilson (scratch), C. Welty 200 yards, W. S. Reay 250, J. W. Horan 260, F. Wright 450, R; T. Sherriff 480, C. H. F. Grovenor 550, W. Wilson 550, W. P. Murphy 600, John Apps 600. Two, a one-mile handicap for two trophies valued at £1 1s and 10s 6d; post entrance. It. is probable that all entered will start for the two mile event, and all are training hard. The event is considered very open, but Wilson, the seventh man, is the general favorite, as he has an unbeaten record, and has never yet been compelled to extend himself.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
