Bankruptcy Court.
BEFORE the Districy Registrar, on Wednesday, a single meeting was held in the estate of John M'Phail, Grafton, butcher. Bankrupt desired to amend his statement of affairs by adding as a creditor the name of Mrs. Sophia Cramp for £112 17s ; also to the list of debtors, W. P. Kelly £46 16s 6s, C. Bell £2 10s, and T. Shoveller for an amount owing by him for book debts collected. Was not bankrupt before, not made an assignment for the benefit of his creditors. He accounted for bank-ruptcy through endorsing 14 p.n's. for his brother Archie to amount of £987. Was served with a writ by the E.S. and A.C. Bank for £2104 19s 1d for an overdraft secured on the selections at Pillar Valley. The Bank had a stock mortgage in addition, and seized under it. No, debts were proved, and the examination concluded.

DEATH.-Mr. John M'Phail, a resident of the Clarence for about 20 years, died on Sat-urday; aged 57. Deceased for a number of years resided at Pillar Valley, for a time conducted a butchering business at Grafton, and was well known as a drover between the Clarence and Tableland. He had been ailing for some time prior to his death.
