The Late Mrs Alice Maher
As briefly reported in an earlier issue the death occurred in Sydney of a very well known Grenfell resident in the person of Mrs Alice Maher, relict of the late Mr Nick Maher.
Deceased lady had lived in Grenfell for many years, her husband predeceasing her as did her two sons Artie and William both members of the Australian contingents in World War 1, the former having been awarded the DCM and MM and bar. The latter was the first Grenfell boy to return from operations overseas

Other surviving members of the family are Hazell, Thomas and Mrs Eddie Burge.
The late Mrs Maher was a member of the Hanshaw family.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev AS Rowe.'
Witnesses to the burial were Thos JOYCE and TR FANNING
