• Military Service: Royal Australian Air Force, 1941 Feb 13, Australia. 5 His service number was 21863. He enlisted at Sydney, NSW, Australia.

• Military Service, 1945, Bougainville, Papua New Guniea. This service is not mentioned on his papers I obtained from the National Archives. Yet it is the reason he was able to apply for a Soldier Setteler farm. Also we have the photos he took.

The story is that he was based at Richmond Air Base for most of his service. Near the end of the war, Percy had a new supervisor. He fell out with this man and they had a fight that came to fist blows. As punishment they were both moved from the base to other locations. Percy was transfered to Bougainville.

I think that in the picture at the bottom right, the names are in the reverse order. The man on the left looks like Percy.

• Other: End of WWII, 1945 Aug 16, Bougainville, Papua New Guniea.

• Military Discharge, 1946 Jan 3, Australia. Number 21863, Leading Aircraftman. Trade Fitter 11E. Reason - On Demobilisation.

• living: Lightwood, From 1949 to 1972, Jingellic, Selwyn County, New South Wales, Australia. Percy only served overseas right at the end of WWII. Because he did, he was allowed to apply for various benefits. He and Lorna ticked the solider settler box, not thinking that anything would come of it. They were unexpectedly offered a property and reluctanlty took up the land.
The property was a square mile block, subdivided from the original Lightwood property and contained the original farm house.
When they moved in, the propery was used as a dairy. However, Percy, an orchardist, did not like this occupation and over the years moved the property over to being a mixed beef-cattle and sheep farm. He also sowed a few paddocks of wheat.
In the first year they moved in, there was a great fire and all the land was burned. Lorna and the children fled to the Jingellic township, though later they wished they has stayed.

• Other: Owned A Truck, After 1949, Jingellic, Selwyn County, New South Wales, Australia. With a bit of luck my brother will one day start restoring it... nudge nudge...

• Electoral Roll: Farrer, 1954 To 1968, New South Wales, Australia. 4

• Moved: on Retirement, 1972, Caloundra, , Queensland, Australia. In 1972, after having spent the best part of a year travelling around Australia and having sold the Lightwood Property to son-in-lat Pillip Potter, Percy and Lorna settled down to live at 19A Maltman Street, Caloundra.

• Physical Description: Height 5' 4½", Fair hair, Blue eyes, Fair complexion, 1946 Feb 13, Australia.

• Electoral Roll: Fisher, 1977 To 1980, Queensland, Australia. 4

• Registration: Death, 1988, Queensland, Australia.

There are other people in this site, for various reasons, some not related at all. Some are married into my family, some I once thought were related and, turns out, they are not.

On the Aborigines: Unfortunately, I can only place global statements not he web pages. The aborigines I am aware of are in the Blackman Line and are from the children of James Blackman and Elizabeth Harley.
