Euphemia Tighe, a half-caste cook
at Gnomery, who had been in the employ of
Mr, Hungerford for eight or nine years, de-
posed to seeing Jolly there in December,
1877, and a sheep from Iris Hock being put into
a room. She could not remember what they
had for dinner at the station on the day men-
tioned, Albert Blackman (who had been in-the
employ of Mr. Hungerford, but had been dis-
missed), brother of last witness-gave somewhat
similar evidence regarding Davenport's sheep
being on Mr. Hungerford's run in December,
1877, but could not recollect seeing a sheepskin
up an the woolpress or anywhere else
about the station homestead. James Tighe,
husband of Euphemia Tighe, who had been in
the employ of Mr. Hungerford for seven or eight
years, gave similar testimony. The witnesses
were brought distances of 600 and 700 miles,
and Blackman was brought from Queensland.
