The other day, while I was down at the metro, a woman complained. She said: “You said he won’t go our with our kind!”.
This caused me to wonder. For me, who is our kind? Well, this image is the answer that popped into my head so quickly it was there before I had finished thinking of the question itself. Clearly my kind would be more complicated than this, a montage of things based on all the places I lived. But this image sits at the core of the Montage.
PS: The Actual Quote that provided the inspiration was: “They siad he will only go out with his kind.“
People come from all places and are of all types. But there is always the special type that you are. In my case I am half Malaysian chinese. So when people speak to me of your kind, this is what I think of and this provided the inspiration for this image.
