Dear Brian
Came across aspects of your amazing family connections (I checked part of your photo-stream) – including links to my own. My great grand-father Prosper Joshua KABLE (1853-1926) spent his childhood years with his big brother – your great X ? grand-father John Henry KABLE & wife – in the Rylstone/Coomber Melon area till 1870s – and their move to Bathurst. Prosper Joshua farmed at “Olinda” on the northern edge of Parkes.
My wife and I lived in Mudgee in 1978 after spending some time in Europe 1976-1977. I was there again just three weeks ago for the launch of a mate’s book “Historic Houses of Mudgee” – (John BROADLEY). Photographed Bleak House – and the monument to Blackman & Lawson in Lawson Park!
I was a teacher – and many years in Japan (16) till about three years ago. I would be interested in any of your Kable line stories.
My wife and I lived four years in Calvert Street in Marrickville, too – late 1981-end of 1985 – then to Nelson Bay area. Then Japan – now Caves Beach.
Sincerely, distant kinsman – Jim KABLE
