10,500 signatures have been collected for the GreenWay petition. Congratulations to the Friends of the GreenWay for coordinating this. The petition is being presented to Carmel Tebbutt at the NSW Parliament House next Wednesday: 11:00am Wednesday 15 February 2011. (Barring last-minute parliamentary interruption). Everyone is welcome to attend.
Please could you ensure that your media departments are aware of this momentous occasion. Hopefully this time the GreenWay can get the coverage it deserves in the national as well as local media.
Friends have organised that representative from Friends of the GreenWay and the three mayors of Marrickville, Ashfield and Leichhardt Councils, would formally present the petition to the three MPs – Carmel, Linda and Jamie – on the steps of Parliament House, for the purpose of media/photography. Carmel has agreed she will also invite the Minister, the Member for Strathfield and the Mayor of Canterbury ( I think by this she means Robert Furrolo, MP ex Mayor of Canterbury).
