Put forth a proposition
When provided with evidence squirm your way out by making stuff up rather than admitting that you do not know.
When more contrary evidence arrives:
1: shoot the messenger
2: deny it
3: distort it
Then: when it all falls apart: say you are sorry.
When that does not work try to get them to forget.
When that does not work – say you were misunderstood.
In the end you are like the proverbial frog in the boiling water. Once it is too late it is always too late. That is a basic feature of too lateness.
Then have to live with the consequences of those who foolishly believed you and have been betrayed.
