Observation Tuesdays – Shoes

In Malaysia people often leave their shoes at the front door. I always thought this was because your shoes may be dirty and therefore this prevents bringing the dirt into the house. A bit like old Australian farms that had scrapers and mats at the front door to clean your shows before you entered.

But recently I have come to think that this has an added benefit. With children it also means that the shoes are in a known place, the front door, rather than in some random location where they were removed from ones feet.

The downside though is that when you want to go out through another door, your shoes are somewhere else.
