Well in the end we were filling in time before the next meal. But given how terribly British kitsch this place is, Kellies Castle is quite a surprising bit of architecture and bit of former colonial glory. The problem with most of the good architecture in Malaysia that I saw is that it is still in use and locked up by the owners. The weather was perfect. The time with the family great. And the state of the ruins quite surprisingly good. And quite a few photos. I love taking photos of interesting architecture.
There was only one bad thing about the place. I had a massive attack of vertigo at the second to top floor and could not make it to the top of the tower. So I went down one floor and waited for the others to have their look.
