A man using some dodgy maths but a generally sound idea, came up with the quote: Of course, we may not have discovered the evidence yet. And when we finally find the black obelisk on the Moon, the paradox will be resolved. But why go to the moon, there are many obelisks here on earth.

Kate has some commentary on friendship in facebook.

And a bit of math on how killing off the weak cancer cells only leaves the better ones and hence you are more likely to have virulent relapses. As Brutovsky and Horvath put it: “A paradoxical consequence of the optimization facet of carcinogenesis is that applied anti-cancer therapy can be, in fact, the causative factor of its acceleration on longer time scales.”

The U.S. military probably has more trombonists in uniform than the entire New Zealand army has soldiers. The country’s military expenditure for 2008 was around $1.2 billion, a sum that would cover perhaps five or six F-22 Raptors. (I lost the link, but it is on Wired magazine)

And a bit about Nanog: Unsung heroes save net from chaos. This is very strange.

Billy is in South East Asia and being the taunting man that he is, wrote on purchasing fresh durian from the road side.
